BMI Listings: Makeba Riddick

I don't think these are necessarily 'new' [but they're at least beyond 07 and/or RocNation] as Ishi and Makeba have been working together at least since 'Petter feat Makeba - Get By' but thought I'd post them anyway...

Haha OK I told you about the Pixie track, the random-ass and mysterious Cathy Dennis track is about 2 years old [Future Cut / Alexandra Burke perhaps], Makeba first worked with Ishi like 5 years ago, so at least some of those are very old tracks, the Future Cut ones are pretty recent...really need to get her discog up, she was actually the first writer I took an interest in [despite Bitchoncé]

Oh lol just saw you said in your post you didn't think the Ishi tracks were very new. The work numbers on BMI and ASCAP etc aren't always indicative [sometimes an old song is registered for instance which automatically messes it up] but it makes it a lot easier. We always know how old a song at least is [just look up well-known songs with a similar code if the writer's own repertoire doesn't tell you] plus it makes it a helluvalot easier to spot the newest songs, when I was younger it took ages lol...

Also, keep in mind Makeba was pregnant last year and my guess is she has been key to getting a bunch of acts signed to Roc Nation [at least James & Rob Kinelski are extremely likely] and in that sense has probably had a much bigger part in the creating the shape of RN than is obvious, being up there with Jay Brown, StarGate & Amanda Ghost who all got like their pet acts with RN...[and yes I know Amanda Ghost was never on or managed by or anything by RN but obv she had one huge ass foot in that door - Hugo, Peter Ibsen, Dave McCracken, The Rural etc]

I swear it's like Roc Nation is almost solely catering to my demands...Tulisa Contostavlos from N-Dubz most likely recorded some of their stuff already, she was in this week, so...can't wait for the first Dean/SoulPower track Very Happy

:D:D I just hope Soul went in with Melanie [not to mention Bridget & Rita obviously but Melanie's album release is closest]

OMG awesome hope we get to hear it soon, so you think it might be for Tulisa? I detest her but she's definitely working with some awesome people, I guessed as much seen as even N-Dubz last album had them working with some decent US producers/writers..

I haven't really heard anything by N-Dubz other than one of them on that Loick track TBH their whole concept and look etc was enough to make me stay away, I know they had Stacy Barthe & Ina Wroldsen, who else did they have on the album? I always got the impression they were sort of marketed at like 10-15 year olds, is that true at all lol? And who else is this Tulisa working with?
