He only did a couple of tracks for Adele, maybe 1 single off her new album or something...he's done some fine stuff over the years but a lot of it is rather boring...

Ahh OK well from the clips it sounds very samey I hope to god we get more than just one/two producers she'd be crazy not to place all those awesome US writers/producers but we've seen worse things happen on album placements... :/

God I can understand, don't get me wrong, but why the fuck is it people can't ever find the fucking middle ground? They could have tried having her go into these sessions without pre-manufactured songs, and have some big US writers actually work with her? I guess it's either way with Syco or something. Makes me wonder just what I want out of the X-Factor US album [supposedly their whole album is gonna be SoulPower-produced, so...]

Seems artists are the bitches in that respect these days, the past few yearss we've mostly been annoyed by the record companies pulling shit like this, with the writers/producers/publishers etc being willing, and now that after a few years of growing into it and it's totally normal to have StarGate working with DnB producers on Rihanna singles it's the artists that are too pretentious to go out on a limb. Oh well, usually it goes hand in hand with character/talent anyway - the most pretentious people that have the most rusty work ethic and are cold to their fans in turn usually have the crappier music as well and the people that seem cool and for some strange reason appreciative to their fans tend to have much more going on musically as well [James, Makeba, Candice, Livvi, Soul, StarGate etc are some of both our fav people that don't get bitchy over what kind of music they make wether it's very experimental or mega-poppy, and to me have easily proven to all be very cool 'in person' as well]

Plus there are way, way better options than Eg White, some of the best music in the world has come from the UK so there's no excuse for not working with great people wanting to 'keep it UK'. Like I said before, I think he's fine, [Eg White], I was quite a fan of his at one point actually [you're going to hate me for saying this but Will Young's "Leave Right Now" for instance is actually a great song that bass drop!]...

If they really needed to go the whole album by 1 person route [which I'm by no means opposed to in general], Guy Sigsworth has been doing lots of Pop, Dubstep as well as more folky Singer-Songwriter stuff in recent years and putting her in with him and even [to us] 'lesser' writers from the UK like Felix Howard or Nina Woodford [who worked with Guy not too long ago] could've easily given her a diverse, edge as well as 'serious' album while still being consistent, instead of the enormous probability we have now of an album full of tracks that, while probably solid enough, are guaranteed to make you wanna fall asleep no matter what time of day it is...I may be a bit biased here cause most people fall asleep to Syience and I love him, but still...I think it can be justified...he has a very recognizable sound [an actual consistent sound] 90% of the time without being repetitive [what I've heard certainly isn't, don't know where people are getting that?]...I admit that many of his songs I don't care for but some of them are amazing, they make up plenty for other boring tracks...

Sometimes I think I really should go for being an A&R manager or something, at least that way it's not my fault if people put out crappy music haha seriously though, I feel personally embarrassed over the music that is actually released these days, not even so much over the fact that 99,9999% of it sucks total balls [just talking about Pop/R&B-ish stuff here obv], but the actual knowledge that there are so many people doing such great work for the picking, they're not in the back of some smoky Jazz café or singing for foor on the sidewalk [well, I'm sure they they are, but...], they're signed and being paid to make music every day, and yet everybody's acting like Sir GaGa is the best thing that ever happened to music...hmm [/rant]

I totally agree the record labels seem to be SO good with collabos ATM Simon Cowell + RocNation in particular have really impressed me and she has so pissed me off with this. Don't get me wrong its nice, her vocals sound amazing as always but as with Leona she shouldn't be allowed to select her own material they're just not qualified enough to do that on their first few albums... I can imagine how amazing she'd sound on a Claude/Chuck & Andrea track in particular so this is one of the most annoying album situations ever, I just hope we get them next album [this one hasn't done too bad over here thank god]

It should do OK but not great, maybe that way next time they hope to get a bit more out of it, this probably spoiled her forever, though.

Yeah I was hoping that would be the case and they'll just tell her to STFU and use all the collabos next album the way its sold she SHOULD get another one I just hope she doesn't fuck this one up she would have sounded AMAZING on an Andrea track what a fucking waste..
